Ahmed Ismail Hassan

Hassan is Senior Credit Analyst at First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC.
During his 20 year tenure with the firm, he has assumed different responsibilities including Head of Branch Corporate, Branch Manager, Regional Head of Corporate and then headed the Risk Management Division of NBAD Egypt, holding the position of Assistant Regional Manager and Head of Risk for 6 years from 2001 – 2007, before assuming the role of Regional Manager Egypt in August 2007 to date.
In 2014, the position was renamed to Country CEO Egypt and in this function he also oversees the bank’s Sudan operations.
Mr. Hassan has almost 25 years of experience in banking, mainly in the credit & risk areas.
He started his career in 1991 in Arab Bank in the Treasury Department, with a brief stint in the Credit & Marketing department before moving to National Bank of Abu Dhabi in 1994 as Senior Credit Analyst in the Regional Credit & Marketing Department.
He graduated with a BA in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 1990.
He also holds an MBA from the same institution in 1995.
In the summer of 1996, he attended a programme on “Investment appraisal and management” at Harvard University in the USA. This was followed in 2001 by a course on “Developing business & leadership skills” at Ashridge business school in the UK and a management programme in 2011 titled “Mobilising people” at IMD business school in Switzerland.
He is also certified by the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK (1997).
