Dr. Alan T.
Pham is Chief Economist at VinaSecurities JSC.
He has been active in both public and private financial sectors for nearly 30 years.
He spent 5 years as a Banking Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, participating in examinations of money center banks in NYC, and conducting studies on the US banking industry.
After working at the Federal Reserve Bank, he spent another 10 years at the World Bank Group in Washington DC, serving as a Macro-economist on the Africa and Latin America Desks.
He took part in numerous bank missions to countries in those regions, working on projects in financial sector reforms, including the development of broker-dealer services in capital markets of these countries.
Back to the private sector, he spent another 10 years at the Bank of America.
BofA had set up a wholly-owned affiliate called BASecurities, Inc. He took part in monitoring the economic impacts of these activities on the corporate headquarters, and efforts by BASecurities to develop financial products and offer them to the customer base .
He holds an MA in economics from Cornell University, an MBA in accounting & finance from the Darden School of Business, and a PhD in money & banking from Cornell University.
