Andrea Pettrachin

Mr. Andrea Pettrachin is a Research Associate at European University Institute.
His research investigates the governance of asylum in Italy, in the framework of the recent refugee crisis, analyzed with a specific focus on political actors’ framing and sense making processes in a multi-level governance scenario, policy networks and their impact on policy outputs.
More specifically, he is currently working on Italian asylum policies under the former Italian government and on the organization of the reception system in three Italian regions (Veneto, Tuscany and Sicily).
Mr. Pettrachin holds a BA in Political Science and International Relations and a MA in Human Rights and Multi-Level Governance.
He has also some practical experience in the field of asylum/migration.
He has recently published a paper based on his MA dissertation research in International Communication Gazette (“Towards a Universal Declaration on Internet Rights and Freedoms?”, 2018).
