The firm was founded in 1931 and formerly known as Wayne Hummer Investments LLC and changed their name to Wintrust Investments LLC in 2018. They are a subsidiary of Wintrust Bank, NA, which is owned by Wintrust Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: WTFC).
