Clive Rutherford

Mr. Rutherford joined Tate & Lyle as a graduate in 1968 and worked in the production/engineering areas in the London and Liverpool refineries.
He subsequently moved to the commercial side covering operations and strategic planning, retail sales and marketing.
He then ran the Plaistow operations before in 1987, being appointed Divisional Director, Sales and Marketing; in 1994, Deputy Managing Director and in 1995, Managing Director of Tate & Lyle Sugars.
In September 1999 he was appointed President, Tate & Lyle North American Sugars and became Chief Executive, European Cereal Sweeteners & Starches in October 2003.
Clive has held steering positions on a number of Sugar Associations in the US and Europe, most recently as Vice Chairman of the Canadian Sugar Institute.
He has also been Chairman of the UK Sugar Bureau and an EXCO member of the Food and Drink Federation.
