Meridie is an active manager which invests in small and medium-sized companies across a variety of sectors excluding construction and automobile. They favor the industrial and services sectors. Their geographic focus is on central and southern Italy (Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria, Sardinia and Sicily) as well as on companies in the Mediterranean region. The firm targets solid companies with revenues between EUR 20 and 150 million, high growth potential and significant operating margins. They avoid investing in turnarounds or start-ups, however they consider investments in smaller companies with EUR 10 to 20 million in turnover. They generally do not invest in spin-offs. Meridie acquires minority or majority stakes in their investee companies, partnering with management to enhance growth through a range of support measures. Their actions include implementing a development strategy, identifying ways to increase profitability, strengthening the management team, providing strategic advice and identifying targets for acquisitions. The firm aims to hold investments for three to seven years, and to exit through an IPO, M&A transaction or trade sale.
