David Franklin Sand

Mr. David F.
Sand is a Chief Impact Strategist at Community Capital Management, Inc. He is on the Board of Directors at Aeris Insight, Inc. He is responsible for furthering the scope of the firm’s impact reporting and outcomes metrics, business development, and creating new impact investing products to meet the needs of existing and future clients.
He is also involved in developing the macro-economic and impact investing outlook applied in the construction of the firm’s investment strategies.
He is chair of the Investment Strategy Committee and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee, Investment Management and Trading Committee, and Valuation Committee.
He has over 35 years of investment management experience and is a trailblazer in the socially responsible/impact investing arena.
He serves on the following boards: New York Advisory Board for Enterprise Community Partners, Croatan Institute, and AERIS: The Information Service for Community Investors.
He is also a former board member of U.S.
SIF: The Forum for Sustainable Investment.
He joined the firm in April 2013.
In 1994, Mr. Sand co-founded Access Capital Strategies and served as its president and chief investment officer from 1994 to 2010.
In this capacity, he pioneered the development of market-rate, fixed income impact investments for institutional investors.
He then worked as a consultant to Community Development Financial Institutions, non-profits and social enterprises.
He received his A.B.
in American History from Princeton University and an M.P.A from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
