Mr. Derek R.
Thoms is a Head of US Trading at Aegon USA Investment Management LLC.
He leads the US fixed income trading team and is responsible for trades from inception to post-trade analysis, including building trades, pre-trade analysis and execution.
Prior to his current role, he was a high yield portfolio manager.
He has been in the industry since 2008 and started with the firm in 2013.
Prior to that, he held several management and leadership positions with ESP International and the University of Northern Iowa, and traded commodities for Archer Daniels Midland Company.
He received his BA in economics from the University of Northern Iowa.
