Mr. Derek S.
Derman, CFA MBA, is a Portfolio Manager at Tocqueville Asset Management LP.
Before joining Poplar Forest in 2011, Mr. Derman spent over 16 years in the financial services industry, including six years as a Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager at Trust Company of the West.
Prior to TCW, Mr. Derman spent four years with Provident Investment Counsel as a Senior Vice President and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Large Cap Flexible Growth and Concentrated Growth Funds.
He also served as a Sell-side Analyst covering financial services for Wedbush Securities.
He earned a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University in 1995, and received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego in 1991.
Mr. Derman has held the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst since 1997.
