Mr. Gareth Bern is a Head of Fixed Income at M&G Investment Managers (Pty) Ltd.
He joined Prudential in 2004 as a Credit Analyst and was appointed as Head of Fixed Income in 2018.
He is also the joint Portfolio Manager of various Prudential funds as well as being responsible for overseeing Prudential’s fixed-income institutional mandates.
Prior to joining Prudential, Mr. Bern completed his articles at Ernst & Young and qualified as a CA (SA) in 2003.
After spending part of 2004 working in the asset management division of Ernst & Young’s New York office, he returned to South Africa and joined Prudential.
He holds both a Bachelor of Business in Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting from University of Cape Town.
He is a CA and Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
