Turquoise Asset Management is a value investor that manages the Turquoise Select Opportunities Fund, a non-diversified fund. The fund seeks to generate long-term growth of capital by investing in equity and fixed-income securities that are trading at a discount to their intrinsic value and/or their long-term estimate of intrinsic value, as estimated by Turquoise Asset Management. Turquoise Asset Management invests the fund's assets in a focused portfolio of equity and fixed-income securities generally consisting of no more than 30 positions. The equity and fixed-income securities in which the fund invests include, but are not limited to, common stocks, US Government bonds, corporate fixed-income securities, convertible securities, preferred securities, REITs, master limited partnerships (MLPs) and special situations. The firm targets special situations that arise when a company's securities are trading at a discount to the estimate of intrinsic value due to company-specific developments rather than general business conditions or market movements overall. Turquoise Asset Management may purchase equity and fixed-income securities globally, across all market-caps. Turquoise Asset Management may sell a security may be sold when: (1) it reaches the firm's estimate of its intrinsic value (2) investments with more attractively-priced valuations or companies are identified and/or (3) companies with better management teams or which the firm has a better understanding of the business' long-term potential are identified.
