Hunter Zhao

Mr. Hunter Zhao is an Associate at New Horizons Venture Capital LLC.
Prior to New Horizons, he worked at Ping An Insurance Group in the Auto Insurance Department.
In this position, Mr. Zhao was in charge of risk evaluation, claim estimation, and priority client management.
Additionally, he designed and revised models used for processing primary data.
At Beijing Great Land Geo-tech Co., Mr. Zhao was deeply involved in the founding of the company and analyzed profitability using multivariate forecast models.
While in college, he worked as the lead research assistant in a National Social Science Fund research program focusing on long-term disability insurance for more than two and a half years, using Stata and Excel to perform modeling and quantitative analysis.
Mr. Zhao has been assistant to the Chair of Department of Finance and Real Estate at the Kogod Business School at American University and has held teaching assistant positions for two graduate courses and one undergraduate course.
Mr. Zhao holds a bachelor's degree in Insurance and Risk Management with a concentration in Actuarial Science from University of International Business and Economics.
While pursuing his Master of Science in Finance from the Kogod School of Business at American University, he has worked as an Equity Analyst for the school's Student-Managed Investment Fund.
