McCarthy is a Portfolio Manager & Vice President of Investment Research at Capital Planning Advisors LLC.
Mr. McCarthy has been in the investment management industry for over 20 years working with high net worth individuals and family groups.
His investment experience involves managing risk in client portfolios through bull and bear markets with rigorous, bottoms-up securities analysis along with a top-down, macro outlook designed emphasizing preservation and grow of capital.
Most recently he was the senior partner for Legacy Capital Management, a boutique investment adviser where he managed the investment process, portfolio management, operations and compliance.
His career started with a real estate syndication firm where he gained exposure to commercial real estate, taxation and new product development.
He is a member of the CFA Society Sacramento and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
He has CFA designation.
