Prior to assuming his current role in early 2008, Mr. Walker was GEAM's CFO, responsible for FP&A, Tax, Controllership, and Performance Analytics across all of the firm's business units as well as maintaining dotted-line responsibility for Compliance.
He serves as a Trustee of the GE Benefit Plan Trusts and the Elfun Funds, and is a member of the GEAM Asset Allocation, Credit, Environmental and Investment Committees.
Since joining GE in 1988, he has held several financial management positions in a number of financial services businesses within the company, including commercial and consumer lending and project finance.
Prior to joining GEAM in 1999, his roles included CFO and SVP for GE Money - Global Consumer Finance from 1996 to 1999; Chief Financial Officer for GE Capital - Commercial Finance from 1992 to 1996; and Finance Director positions at GE Capital - TIFC from 1988 to 1992.
Before GE, Mr. Walker was the Assistant Corporate Controller for the General Host Corporation for three years and held various financial positions during his six years with The Continental Group.
He began his career at Price Waterhouse, where he was a Senior Accountant and a member of the Audit Staff.
Mr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairfield University and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Haven (1985) and is a CPA and a member of the FASB Investor Task Force.
