John T. Blankinship

Mr. John T.
Blankinship, Jr., is Co-Founder at Blankinship & Foster LLC.
He co-founded Blankinship & Foster in 1989.
He is a Past-President (1982-1983) of the San Diego Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP).
During 1989-1991, he served as President and Chairman of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP).
The IAFP and the ICFP merged in 2000 to form the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
Mr. Blankinship served on the Board of Governors of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards from 1988 to 1995.
He served as President and Chairman in 1994/1995 and as Chairman of the International CFP Council in 1996.
He authored many articles on financial planning for various publications and magazines.
He gave numerous presentations and seminars on financial planning across the United States and was a speaker at many of his profession’s leading national and regional conventions and symposiums.
He is the co-author of The Six Cups-How toManage Your Money, published in 1992.
He served on the Financial Advisory Service Board of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. in 1992 and 1993.
He served in the United States Navy Reserve as an officer from 1959-1963.
Mr. Blankinship is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance in 1959 and his Master of Science Degree in Economics in 1964.
