Sharp is Director-Prime Services Origination at Barclays Capital Securities Ltd.
He joined Barclays from Urwick Capital LLP, where he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In this role, he was involved in setting up the infrastructure agreement between Urwick and Wijo Capital, and at one time served as the COO for both firms.
From 2001 until 2003, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Hordern Capital LLP.
From 1994 until 2001, he worked at Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director and latterly served as the European Head of Equity Swaps Operations and as Global Head of the Equity Derivative Infrastructure Re-engineering Initiative from 1999 until 2001.
From 1990 to 1994, he worked at Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) as a Vice President in the Infrastructure Planning Group within the Financial Markets division.
