Michael A. Russell

Michael Russell is a Partner and Head of Europe.
He has overall responsibility for European investments and operations in the region.
He is a member of Altius’ Investment Policy Committee and Investment Selection Committee.
He also serves as a member of the Professional Standards Committee of the EVCA, and has previously served in advisory capacities with the OECD Financial Markets Committee and other industry-government initiatives.
He has more than 14 years of private equity experience, and joined Altius in 2007.
Prior to joining Altius, he was Managing Director for Europe with PCG Asset Management.
He also held positions as an investment banker with CIBC Wood Gundy Securities Inc. and as a lawyer with Lawson Lundell.
Mr. Russell holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, a Diploma in International Management from HEC (Paris), and MBA and Law degrees from the University of British Columbia.
He is a Canadian and US citizen and speaks English and French.
