When making an investment, MLGPE takes a control-oriented approach and seeks to structure transactions to ensure the ability to influence critical decisions for a portfolio company, particularly as it relates to specific value-added initiatives. A key element of their transaction negotiation with partners and management centers on contractual rights and board representation that facilitate input into key decisions such as management changes, expansion plans, acquisitions, budgets, debt and equity financings and new initiatives. MLGP implements value creation initiatives such as organic growth alternatives, acquisitions and other strategic initiatives, business rationalization and operational improvements and capital structure improvements in partnership with portfolio company management.
