Mr. Bills serves on the Board of Directors of California United Bank and has since 2006 worked as a management consultant to various organizations, including physician office practices, outpatient clinic services, healthcare valuation services, orthopedic medical services, an information services company, and a variety of philanthropic organizations.
Prior to his consulting work, Mr. Bills was President, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice Chairman of the Board for Valley Presbyterian Hospital for more than 30 years.
There, he recruited numerous successful medical groups to the hospital’s medical staff, and guided the hospital to full status since 1982.
He also oversaw the opening of a new patient tower at Valley Presbyterian in 2004 and the transition of patients from CHW-Northridge Hospital’s Sherman Way Campus to Valley Presbyterian.
This was an 18-month endeavor that led to the closure of that facility and transfer of the patient volume to Valley Presbyterian in the areas of the Emergency, OB/GYN, Medical, Surgical, and GI Lab departments.
Valley Presbyterian remains the largest non-union facility in the San Fernando Valley.
Mr. Bills serves on the boards of numerous industry, educational, and community organizations, including the University of La Verne, the Independent Colleges of Southern California, Voluntary Hospitals of America, the Healthcare Association of Southern California, the Organization for Needs of the Elderly, Hathaway Children and Family Services, Valley Industry and Commerce Association, and Pasadena Angels.
