Robert Urie

Before joining Pioneer Investments in 2006, Robert served as the Director of Quantitative Research for SEI Investments where he worked extensively across asset classes to restructure $16 billion of existing products managed by the firm’s clients, including IG fixed income, global IG, high-yield, emerging markets debt, small cap equity, hedge fund of funds, and quantitative equity.
Within his role, he worked closely with money managers including PIMCO, Western Asset Management, Blackrock, Ashmore, and Metropolitan West to create quantitative methods for decomposing, understanding and recomposing bundles of investment characteristics into functioning funds of funds.
Prior to SEI Investments, Robert spent three years at Bank of America as a Senior Project Manager after getting his start at Wachovia as a Quantitative Analyst for the Institutional Fixed Income Group.
Robert has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Philosophy from Albright College.
He also has a master’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina where he completed an additional year of graduate coursework in History of Science and Philosophy of Science.
