Core to VV's investment strategy is focusing on enabling technology within IT (IT-Optics and photonics, advanced communications systems, e-trade and digital brand asset management and electronics), environmental technology (waste to energy recycling, pollution control, preservation and protection) and materials (nano-scale materials and processes, materials and processes for electronic and photonic applications, equipment and processes for industrial applications). They prefer early-phase investments but also consider seed and expansion phases in B2B markets. They look for lead investment opportunities in their home market with high entry-barriers. They typically take minority stakes from 20% to 45%. They generally invest from €500 thousand to €5 million from entry until exit. Beyond their home market, they co-invest with another VC firm. VV's investment horizon spans five to eight years.
