MASIC is an active manager which invests in middle-market companies globally. The firm targets companies operating in a broad range of sectors which include financial institutions, industrials, retail, healthcare, education, real estate and oil & gas. It provides equity, debt, and mezzanine financing in buyout transactions and acquisitions, and looks to take controlling minority stake positions in its investments, as well as a seat on the board.

MASIC actively seeks new opportunities locally, regionally and globally to achieve optimum growth. The firm invests in traditional investments—such as public equities—inside and outside Saudi Arabia, utilizing managed accounts. The firm aims to outperform its benchmarks by increasing its exposure to undervalued markets while reducing its exposure to overvalued markets. They also achieve outperformance by investing across different strategies, such as the unconstrained strategy, quantitative strategy and small-cap strategy. MASIC also invests in alternative investments internationally, to achieve return targets in excess of those found in traditional asset classes. Alternative asset classes include private equity funds, real estate funds and income generating funds.
