Sharad Mathur

Mr. Sharad Mathur is a Chief Executive Officer, Director & MD at Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd. and a Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd. He is on the Board of Directors at Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd. He has over 28 years of experience in corporate development strategy, primarily in Non-Life Insurance Industry.
Previously, He was employed with SBI General Insurance Company in various leadership roles since its inception, in the year 2009 and finally as Head - Distribution till July 2019, appointed as KMP by the Board of Directors.
He also had a specific stint in a new General Insurance venture as a Co - Founder, developing business structure, shareholding pattern, and long - term strategy for the proposed venture.
Earlier, he was employed with ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd, since its inception, in the year 2001, in various regional and national leadership roles.
In the past, he has worked with large manufacturing organizations, including MRF, Bharat Shell and Reliance Retail.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi.
