Mr. Pekin has over 40 years experience in the financial services industry and is one of the founders of Pekin Singer.
He began his career as a senior accountant at Peat Marwick & Mitchell in 1957.
In 1961, Mr. Pekin joined Mesirow & Company, a Chicago-based investment firm, serving as its President from 1977 to 1985.
He earned a B.A.
in Accounting from the University of Illinois in 1957 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1958.
He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Midwest Securities Trust Company.
Other industry experience includes serving as Governor of the Midwest Stock Exchange and Director of Midwest Clearing from 1986 to the present.
Mr. Pekin has also been active at the NASD, serving as a Member of the District Committee Number 8 as well as serving on the District’s Nominating Committee.
