They look for companies with an exceptional management team, a unique business model offering a differentiated product or service, a defensible position in an attractive industry sector, a history of profitability and cash flow generation, limited customer or supplier concentration and significant growth potential. When considering start-up opportunities, WCP makes both control and minority equity investments. They invest in the form of both equity and mezzanine securities. Investments typically range from $20 million to $150 million. Transaction types include MBOs, LBOs, recapitalizations, growth financings, acquisition financings, mezzanine financings (sponsor or non-sponsor transactions) and special situations such as PIPEs and distressed situations.
