Stewart J. Kahn

Mr. Kahn was the President and Chief Operating Officer of FTI Consulting from September 1998 until his retirement in May 2004.
He is also the founder of Kahn Consulting, Inc., which was acquired by FTI in 1998.
With more than 30 years of experience in litigation, bankruptcy, and auditing, Mr. Kahn is a nationally known figure and a seasoned expert witness on accounting and financial matters.
Mr. Kahn served as a Trustee in the reorganization of Ranger Industries (formerly Coleco).
In addition, he has been appointed Examiner in a number of bankruptcy cases and served as an Operating Trustee in many others.
Mr. Kahn worked in a number of industries including defense, retail, energy, transportation, construction, airlines, toy manufacturing, cable television, licensing and franchising, beverage bottling, and international investment banking, commodities and security trading, timber, mining, advertising, and publishing.
Prior to founding Kahn Consulting in 1989, Mr. Kahn was the partner in charge of the worldwide litigation support practice at Arthur Andersen & Co. He joined Arthur Andersen in 1965 and was admitted to the partnership in 1977.
Mr. Kahn holds a B.B.A. from Lehigh University.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Mr. Kahn is Chairman of the Board of New York Therapeutic Communities, Inc., a substance abuse treatment program called Stay’n Out and is active in other advisory boards and charities.
