Allianz Private Equity Partners GmbH (APEP) is part of the private equity arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allianz SE (FR: ALV; NYSE: AZ), a global leader in insurance and financial services. APEP originated in 1996 within the long-term strategic assets department of the Allianz group. The current firm was spun off and formally established in 2001. They are based in Munich, New York (since 2002) and Singapore (established 2007). The Munich office covers European investments, legal and financial matters as well as European investor relations. The New York office manages North American investments and clients, and the Singapore office is responsible for Asian investment activities. APEP is primarily involved in indirect private equity investments. The firm manages private equity funds of funds. Following the 2001 merger of the Allianz and Dresdner Bank groups, APEP integrated the indirect investment activity of Dresdner Kleinwort Capital in 2003. APEP's fellow subsidiary ACP-Allianz Capital Partners GmbH specializes in direct private equity investments. APEP's investors includes other entities within the Allianz group and institutions in Germany, the US and Italy, as well as high-net worth private individuals worldwide.

Nordwind Capital GmbH (Nordwind Capital) is a German private equity firm which was founded by Dr. Hans Albrecht in 2003. Headquartered in Munich, Nordwind Capital manages the NCP I fund, backed by investors including the endowments of leading American universities and a select number of European family offices and international institutional investors.
