Vasileios Gkionakis

Dr. Vasileios Gkionakis is Head of Global FX Strategy at UniCredit Bank AG.
He was previously employed as Fixed Income Strategist & Economist by Merrill Lynch International.
He also worked at Fulcrum Asset Management LLP where he worked as a Director of Macro Strategy.
Prior to Fulcrum Asset Management, he worked as a Research Assistant for the Centre for Economic Performance, London School of Economics.
In 1999, he worked as a Research Fellow for IMOP (Institute for Economic Policy Studies) and as a Research Assistant for the Athens University of Economics and Business.
Dr. Gkionakis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Economics (summa cum laude) from the Athens University of Economics and Business in 1996 and 2000, respectively.
He obtained a Master of Science degree in Economics in 2001 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economics in 2004, both from the London School of Economics.
