Mr. William P.
Fong joined Investor Growth Capital Asia (IGC Asia) at its inception as Managing Director in June 2002.
Prior to joining IGC Asia, Bill was Managing Director of imGO Limited, a public company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange which focused on venture capital investments (Investor AB, Ericsson and Hutchison Whampoa were major shareholders).
Prior to that, he worked for Lazard Asia Investment Management, the Asia private equity arm of Lazard, and Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger, a California law firm.
He earned a J.D.
and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Computer Science from Columbia University.
Mr. William P.
Fong specializes in growth capital investments in Asia and has led investments for IGC Asia in the following China portfolio companies: EAB Systems (insurance/wealth management software provider), Funmobile (mobile content provider), United Information Technology (network storage system provider), Yanhuang Health Media (out of home media network), and Yuan Chuan (radio agency and services).
In Japan, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for Frepar Networks (provider of data storage services).
At IGC Asia, he has previously served as a Board Director of the following companies: Asia Renal Care (regional Asia dialysis services provider, acquired by Bumrungrad International); DPG Holdings (corporate credit information provider in Japan (Nagoya Stock Exchange: 3781)); United Pacific Industries (branded manufacturer and OEM in China (HK Stock Exchange:0176)).
While at Lazard, he served on the Board of Mandarin Communications (now Sunday Communications (HKSE:0866), acquired by PCCW); and Spice Communications (mobile operator in India).
