Currently, Alice P. Gast is Member-International Governors Board at New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Gast is also President for Imperial College London, Member of American Chemical Society, Member of Royal Academy of Engineering, Member of American Academy of Arts & Sciences, Member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Member of American Physical Society and on the board of 6 other companies.

In her past career she occupied the position of Professor at Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource, President for Lehigh University, Vice President-Research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Professor at Stanford University and Member of American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Alice P. Gast received a doctorate and a graduate degree from Princeton University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California.
