In the past Ms. Purohit held the position of President at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., Chief Operating Officer at Times Television Network, President at Jagran Prakashan Ltd. and President for Association of Radio Operators of India.

She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Madras, an undergraduate degree from Stella Maris College and an undergraduate degree from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
