Exxon Mobil Corporation è un gruppo petrolifero organizzato intorno a 3 aree di attività:
- raffinazione e distribuzione (76,9% del fatturato netto): 5,4 milioni di barili di prodotti petroliferi (gasolio, benzina, olio combustibile, lubrificanti, oli motore, ecc.) venduti al giorno nel 2024;
- petrolchimico (12,1%): principalmente oli, aromi, alcoli, etilene, elastomeri, propilene e polimeri (19,3 Mt venduti nel 2024) per i settori farmaceutico, cosmetico, tessile, elettrico, ecc.
- esplorazione e produzione di idrocarburi (10,9%; leader mondiale): 2,9 milioni di barili di petrolio prodotti al giorno e 228,7 milioni di m3 di gas naturale prodotti al giorno.
Le vendite nette sono distribuite geograficamente come segue: Stati Uniti (40,1%), Canada (8,8%), Regno Unito (6,1%), Singapore (4,6%), Francia (4%) e altri (36,4%).
