The firm was founded in 1987 and conducts equity research with the Tokyo office (focusing on mid-cap companies in Western Europe), sub-advising portfolios for funds managed in Tokyo and domiciled in the Cayman Islands (specializing in fixed-income and commodities investments) and locally distributing investment trusts and other financial products managed within the group. Ltd., itself a subsidiary of Daiwa Securities Group Inc. (TYO: 8601; OTCMKTS: DSEEY), an investment bank headquartered in Japan. Founded in 1994, DAMSL manages funds and provides investment advisory services for funds domiciled in Japan.
