Dr. Johnson joined Comerica on January 4, 2005 from Bank One in Chicago where he served as managing director and head of research for Banc One Capital Markets.
During his 18 years with Bank One, he also served as the chief economist for capital markets and actively traded securities on a proprietary basis.
Dr. Johnson began his career at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC, where he served for eight years.
He later served as an economist at the Northern Trust Company and Continental Illinois National Bank.
He is a member of the National Association of Business Economists and the American Economic Association.
Dr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D.
in Economics from Northwestern University.
