Doug Engmann is Chairman of Sage Brokerage Holdings, the parent of SageTrader LLC, a broker dealer servicing proprietary trading groups and hedge funds.
Engmann became an options market maker on the Pacific Stock Exchange in 1977.
He was a Governor of the Exchange from 1981-1987 and its Vice-Chairman & Acting Chairman in 1986-1987.
He was the co-founder and CEO of Sage Clearing Corporation, the options market maker clearing firm which built the first real-time trade processing and risk system for options traders in 1984.
Sage Clearing was sold to ABN AMRO in 1998 and Engmann became the CEO of ABN AMRO Clearing and Execution Services, the global business unit of prime brokerage, futures, and securities execution and clearing operations.
In 2004, he became CEO of PreferredTrade, a retail options broker owned by the Engmann brothers, which was sold to Fimat USA in 2005.
He was the Managing Director of Equities at Fimat where he pioneered the use of portfolio margining under the SEC pilot project from 2005-2007.
Engmann has served as a director of the National Securities Clearing Corporation and the Options Clearing Corporation.
