Michael R. Crum

Dr. Michael R.
Crum Vice President for Economic Development and Business Engagement, Iowa State University Mike led the initiative to create the Office of Economic Development and Industry Relations (EDIR) which serves as the gateway or entry point to campus for organizations wanting to connect with the university’s research, technical, and business expertise and capabilities.
Mike is also a faculty member in the College of Business at ISU, where he has served as Department Chair, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, and Interim Raisbeck Endowed Dean.
He currently holds the Ruan Chair in Supply Chain Management and previously held the John and Ruth DeVries Endowed Chair in Business.
Mike teaches business logistics, supply chain management, and transportation management at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
He has authored or co-authored more than 100 research publications, and he has been a principal investigator on three U.S.
Department of Transportation research projects.
He is the former editor of two academic journals and is currently on the editorial review boards of four academic journals.
In 1988-89 he was a Fulbright Scholar at the Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw, Poland.
Mike earned his B.S., M.B.A., and D.B.A.
degrees from Indiana University.
