Before that, he served as a portfolio manager and senior analyst for Stein, Roe, and Farnham, and Conseco Capital Management, where he entered the investment field in 1994.
He received a BS in Mathematics from Purdue University, and a Master of Science in Statistics/Operations Research as well as an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Cincinnati.
Also, he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1997.
