Hasung Jang

Dr. Hasung Jang is an Advisor at Cartica Management LLC.
He is Dean and Professor of Finance, Korea University Business School.
He is also Executive Director of the Asian Institute of Corporate Governance, Korea University and Chair of the Participatory Economy Committee, People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy (“PSPD”) in Korea.
He is also the founder of Korea’s Center for Good Corporate Governance, which advises the investment team of the Lazard Korea Corporate Governance Fund.
Dr. Jang has served as an advisor or consultant to the Presidential Commission for Financial Reform, World Bank, Financial Supervisory Commission, Fair Trade Commission, Korea Stock Exchange, Financial Development Committee of Ministry of Finance and Economy and has published over 40 academic papers, including some seminal studies of corporate governance in emerging markets.
Dr. Jang was educated at Korea University College of Business Administration, and subsequently gained an MA in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany, and gained a PhD in Finance in 1987 from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
