The Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN (SMRJ) was officially launched in 2004. SMRJ was formed through a merging of Japan Small and Medium Enterprise Corporation (JASMEC), Japan Regional Development Corporation (JRDC), and Industrial Structure Improvement Fund (ISIF). Under the basic approach of providing customer-oriented and results-based suport, SMRJ offers support services for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and regional development. The organization proposes support measures for aspects of infrastructure, funding, human resource and information regarding requests and problems of SMEs. SMRJ offers support measures including advice from experts and business matching opportunities, in collaboration with regional SME support organizations, local government units, chamber of commerce and industry, society of commerce and industry, financial institutions and universities. SMRJ has several branches around Japan.
