Welty, joined Founders Asset Management LLC as an equity analyst in January 2001.
As a member of the small- and mid-cap investment team, he is responsible for analyzing and recommending companies in IT services, business services, employment services, financials, software, energy, communications equipment, and networking.
Before joining Founders, Mr. Welty was a senior equity analyst for Stifel, Nicolaus Inc. a St. Louis-based brokerage firm, where he covered technology, media, energy, telecom equipment, and capital goods.
His background also includes experience as a computer programmer/analyst, senior consultant to the telecommunications industry, and director of an emerging software company, Allpoints Systems, Inc. in Norwood, Massachusetts.
Mr. Welty received an MS in finance from the University of Colorado, Denver, and a bachelor's of art degree in mathematics from Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
He is a member of the Denver Society of Security Analysts as well as the Association for Investment Management and Research.
