Dr. Stephen T.
Lawless, MD MBA, is Vice President-Quality & Patient Safety at The Nemours Foundation.
Dr. Lawless holds certifications in pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and the sub-board: Pediatric Critical Care of the ABP and is a Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
He has authored numerous manuscripts and book chapters and also serves on multiple journal editorial boards.
He represents Nemours with the National Quality Forum and has presented at numerous national and government-sponsored forums.
He has also received numerous awards such as being included in "The Best Doctors in America".
Dr. Lawless has assisted with many quality and safety initiatives nationally and throughout Nemours, many of which are receiving national prominence and adaptation.
Dr. Lawless, MD was born in Hackensack, New Jersey.
He earned his BS in biology from Fordham University in Bronx, NY and his medical degree from UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
He completed a pediatric residency and Chief Residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and a pediatric critical care fellowship at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
He subsequently earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.
