Mr. Cesso joined First Marblehead's Senior Management Team in December of 2004.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Cesso served as Executive Vice President and CIO for Telerate, a global market data firm in New York, and Citigroup Asset Management where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Technology for Worldwide IT.
While at Citigroup, he built a global technology team and deployed advanced investment management, sales, marketing, and operations platforms.
He also led the business recovery from the World Trade Center disaster on 9/11.
In addition, Mr. Cesso served as Vice President of IT for Fidelity Investments Systems Company where he led planning and implementation of major technology efforts across several areas of business and oversaw the development and infrastructure services for retail marketing, distribution and operations.
Mr. Cesso worked for Coopers & Lybrand, Ernst & Young, and Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd & McGrath from 1986-1996.
In each case, he provided strategy and IT consulting services to Fortune 1000 companies.
Mr. Cesso has a B.S.
and Masters in Engineering from Boston University and M.B.A.
from Boston University Graduate School of Management.
He also lectured in Management Sciences at the University of Massachusetts and performed research in the Management of Technology at Boston University.
