Andre Gatien

André Gatien was raised in Tucson, Arizona.
He studied translation and linguistics at a French-speaking university in Quebec City, Canada, called l`Université Laval, where he received his B.A.
in 1986.
After returning to the U.S., André entered a joint degree program at Emory University for Law and Business, where he was a Dean’s Scholar in the School of Business.
During his first year, he worked as a Finance Research Assistant.
André received both his J.D.
and his M.B.A in 1993.
Rounding out his academic background, André earned his C.F.A.
in 1998.
After receiving his M.B.A.
and J.D.
degrees, André began working at Wachovia Bank as a loan officer, specializing in large corporate loans.
In 1994, his lending group was recognized as the best underwriters in the department.
From 1995 to 1997, André worked in the asset management arm of the bank as an equity analyst; his team managed over $10 billion in assets.
In 1997, he took a position with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Institutional Investment Management at Miller Anderson & Sherrerd, L.L.P.
Over the next three years, André covered the telecommunications and technology industries, making recommendations to portfolio managers running small, mid and large cap funds.
