Arthur E. Strout

Arthur is a principal in the law firm of Strout & Payson, P.A..
Prior to entering private practice in 1964, Arthur had been a law clerk with the U.S.
Court of Appeals (9th Circuit) and a trial attorney for the Tax Division of the U.S.
Department of Justice.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Acadia Trust, N.A., he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Camden National Bank since 1979 and Camden National Corporation since 1999.
He has also previously served as trustee of Penobscot Bay Medical Center, a member and chairman of the Maine Board of Bar Examiners, and a trustee of the Owls Head Transportation Museum.
Arthur earned his degrees from Bowdoin College in 1957, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and Harvard Law School in 1960.
He is a native of Thomaston, Maine.
