D.
Richard Stephens is president, North American Tire Division of Cooper Tire, an operating group of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company.
He joined Cooper in 1978 as a truck tire development chemist.
The following year, he was named compound development manager, and in 1985 was named product development manager.
In 1990, he was promoted to director of technical and in 1994 was named vice president of technical.
In March 2000 he was promoted to vice president technical and commercial tire operations, and in December of that year was named president of the International Tire Division of Cooper Tire.
He held that position until December 2001 when he was named to his current position.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, and his Master in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.
He also completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
