Union Bancaire Privée, UBP SA (UBP) is the private banking subsidiary of CBI Holding SA in Switzerland. Headquartered in Geneva, the firm was founded in 1969 by Edgar de Picciotto as Compagnie de Banque et d'Investissements (CBI). They merged with TDB-American Express Bank to create Union Bancaire Privée SA in 1990 and in 2011 acquired the Swiss wealth management subsidiary of ABN AMRO. UBP is an asset management specialist which provides wealth management services for private and institutional clients.

HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA (HSBC-PBS) is a subsidiary of HSBC Private Banking Holdings (Suisse) SA, which in turn is a subsidiary of London-based HSBC Holdings Plc (LSE: HSBA; NYSE: HBC). HSBC-PBS was incorporated in 2001 as HSBC's private banking operations were undergoing reorganization. The bank was previously known as HSBC Republic Bank (Suisse) and originated in 1999. In 2009 the firm absorbed the activities of HSBC Guyerzeller Bank SA. HSBC-PBS is headquartered in Geneva with domestic branches in Lugano and Zurich as well as a seasonal office in St Moritz. The bank also has offices worldwide in Nassau, Guernsey, Stockholm, Athens, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Moscow, Singapore, Hong Kong, Santiago, Montevideo and Buenos Aires. HSBC-PBS specializes in cross-border wealth management for an international clientele of high-net worth individuals and institutions. They manage discretionary portfolios and distribute investment products managed within HSBC and by third parties, following an open architecture model. The bank also carries out market transactions, grants Lombard credits and participates in settlement operations for the parent group.
