Founded in 1991, Winslow, Evans & Crocker, Inc. is a broker/dealer located in Boston. The company is a member of the NASD, DBSE, NIBA and the SIPC. Winslow, Evans & Crocker's initial focus was to meet the investment, brokerage, and underwriting needs of their principals. Over time, the firm's capabilities were extended to a select group of investment professionals, registered investment advisors and institutional and strategic partners. In 1998, a decision was made to further leverage the assets of the firm by offering services to a wider customer base. In 1999, the company became a registered investment advisor with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to address the growing demand for fee-based asset management. In January 2000, all employees of Culverwell & Co., another Boston-based NASD member, joined Winslow, Evans & Crocker. Also in January of 2000, the firm established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Winslow Evans and Crocker Life Agency, Inc.

The firm was founded by Joseph (Joe) S. Deitch in 1979 as The Cambridge Group. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of 1979 Holding Co. LLC, an indirect and wholly-owned subsidiary of Gratitude Holdings, Inc. Commonwealth provides advisory services to individuals and high net-worth individuals, corporations or other businesses, pension and profit-sharing plans (other than plan participants), state or municipal government entities, and charitable organizations.
