David Sotsky

Mr. Sotsky joined Convergent Wealth Advisors in June 2009 as a Director in the firms Institutional Group.
He specializes in evaluating and designing investment strategies for non-profits, pensions, foundations and family offices.
In addition, he addresses pre/post liquidity planning strategies for middle market business owners.
Prior to joining Convergent, Mr. Sotsky was a member of a team at UBS Financial that was recognized by Research Magazine as one of the Top-Ranked Advisor Teams in America.
Prior to that, he was a Guided Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor at Smith Barney in Washington, DC for seven years.
Mr. Sotsky is actively involved in charitable organizations and is a former recipient of the Presidents Volunteer Service Award.
He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
He has also served on the Board of Advisors for the Johns Hopkins University Graduate Division of Business where he sponsored a program to help foundations and non-profit organizations maintain productivity, transparency, and accountability within an increasingly regulatory environment.
David worked to develop collaborative relationships and support the strategic growth of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the DC Urban Debate League which fosters education for students.
Mr. Sotsky gives ongoing financial planning lectures and has addressed groups such as Accenture, The George Washington University MBA Association, The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, McDonalds Corporation, Brandeis University's National Women's Committee, Discovery Communications, The Money Show, and The World Banks International Investors Club.
Mr. Sotsky earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Eckerd College with a minor in Spanish.
He enjoys traveling, composing music and spending time with his family.
