Cross Border Power Transmission Co. Ltd. has constructed and commissioned a 400 KV D/C transmission line of 85.55 Kms in length as part of the Indo-Nepal interconnection project. The main objective of CPTC is to engage in the business of building, maintaining, and operating transmission systems between India and neighboring countries for the purpose of export and import of electricity, transmission of data, and other related business. The company is based in New Delhi, India. The company was founded in 2006, and the CEO is Prabaht R. Pati. Cross Border Power Transmission Co. Ltd. is a joint venture of IL&FS ENERGY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LIMITED, POWERGRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED, SJVN LIMITED, and NEPAL ELECTRICITY AUTHORITY. The Indian company is ultimately controlled by the Government of India. Cross Border Power Transmission Co. was acquired by SJVN Ltd. on January 18, 2024 for $2.27 million.
