He joined Lehman Brothers in 1989 as a Senior Vice President in the Municipal Bond Department and was named to the Institutional Investor All-American Fixed Income Research Team in 1994.
Previously he was a Vice President of risk underwriting at Bond Investors Guaranty and a Vice President at Standard & Poor’s Corporation.
He began his career in hospital finance and was Budget Director of St. Clare’s Hospital in New Jersey.
Mr. Appel holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton.
